Holidays, again

We had a low key Christmas and NYE this year. On Christmas Eve, we spent most of the day baking sweets: cookies, peanut brittle, 3 kinds of fudge, caramel popcorn, and puppy chow.

Sensing this was too much to eat ourselves, we packaged some up for our friends then headed over to the Maya house (Brad's coworker) for dinner.

On Christmas, we had dinner with a different group of friends...although, for the record, the Kerns were at both dinners. :)

Other cooking projects during the holidays involved a group effort with the Kerns to make a couple hundred dumplings by hand (to freeze for easy dinners later). They have pork, shrimp, and Chinese black mushroom inside.

For NYE, we kind of dropped the ball (pun intended). But seriously, folks, we really were late to get anything planned. We were hoping someone would invite us to a party, but I guess we are not THAT cool. So we decided on the eve of New Years Eve to have our own party. Of course, most people already had plans so we only had 8 at our party, but it was a fun time nonetheless.

Em rings in 2011

We hope all of you had a wonderful time during the holidays. We only wish we could have spent it with more family and friends, but this is one of the problems with living so far from home.

We are very excited for what 2011 has in store for us: Em will be starting her MBA in March and we are hoping to squeeze in a trip to Hong Kong for her brother's wedding. Other than that, we will just have to wait and see what adventures we will encounter/create.

Happy New Year!
with love,
Brad and Emily
