Things have been going well here the last few weeks. I found out a week ago that I got a promotion and a raise at work! And this past weekend was great. I turned 28 today...but it was great being able to spend it with some great friends. It has made me realize some of the great friendships we've developed here. Saturday night, a bunch of us went to our favorite Chinese restaurant, Om Seafood for my birthday dinner. We even ran into my Uncle Charlie eating there! Afterwards, we headed to Hopworks, a local organic brewery in Portland. All in all, a great way to ring in the 28th birthday. Thanks to all who came to help celebrate with me :)
Also, to catch up on the blog, we are also including some pics of a day in Lake Oswego, a nice suburb of Portland. We met up with my co-worker and her husband and ate lunch in some gorgeous 65 degree weather and took a walk around the Lake.
Our friends Laura and David. Laura just found out she's pregnant! She's due in September.
The Lake...there are some gorgeous houses located on the Lake with garages for their boats! Brad and I are hoping to move here in about 20 years :)The last few weeks have been warm, which means trees and flowers have been blooming. This is a pic of our cherry tree in our backyard. We haven't figured out what this plant is...maybe rhododendrons? They're very fragrant and growing all over our gate to the backyardOur pic of our surprise tulips in our backyard.
Stay tuned...next weekend, I'm headed to Chicago for a board meeting at Northwestern, then we're headed to Seattle for a day to see our friends Jo and Clayton, and then off to Iceland! We'll post pics when we get back :)

Snowboarding in Colorado 2010
Last weekend, we headed to Colorado for some snowboarding at Keystone, Copper, and Winter Park. Along for the trip were (L to R): Chad, Em, Matt, Heidi (Pat's sister), Kristina, Pat, Adrienne, Sean, and yours truly (behind the camera).
We stopped in Denver to meet up with some family...Aunt Rochelle and Uncle Lee as well as my cousin Dave and Heidi White live in Denver, so it was nice to have lunch with them on our way to the cabin.

We finally arrived at our accommodations for the weekend.....just kidding, we stayed at a cabin near Breckenridge. Thanks Dave for hooking us up with the good deal at the cabin!
We had an amazing trip with great snow and even better weather. The best part, however, was the priceless good times we had with our friends on the trip.
Chad (Brad's high school friend who now lives in Denver)
shows us how to properly park in the mountains.
Chad's truck was clutch for transporting all the gear.

On the last day, we got some amazing powder at Winter Park/Mary Jane. The powder made for some soft landings so our inhibitions were lowered and we all started hitting jumps. Below are some videos of Emily and Pat hitting some jumps. Pat may have landed his jumps, but Em gets style points for her "landing". :)
